Characterization
Leisure amenities Skalka is located in mountain surrounding in a saddle of Small Smrk and Skalka about 2 km from a village Ostravice, where you can do shopping, go to restaurants, use post office. From Ostravice is train connection. Accommodation is suited for less exacting clients, with posibility of lowered prices for big groups and stays not in season. Is suited for curative stays, summer camps, skiing courses, outdoor school, school trips, family recreation, firm junkets, seminars, family celebrations (up to 40 people).

Motorized visitor turn right 150 m past railstation Ostravice and continue the way (also red tourist sign to Smrk), about 2,5 Km by signs "RS Skalka". In winter are needed snow chains. Bus stop Ostravice is 2,5 Km as the railstation.

Accommodation in main building - 2 or 6 bedded rooms, 3bedded apartment for 8 people and in smaller chanties for 6 people. Chanties are equipped with kitchen, refrigerator, microwave, grill, BTV and radio/cassette deck with CD. In 1 floor is settlement - WC, shower, basin.

Restaurant, bar, sun deck, grill, fireplace, darts,playgraund, sportground, bicycle rental, table tennis. Accept animals with a vaccine card in chanties and apartment. Service in reception is nonstop, knowledge of englich and polish language.

Ski tow "Na Čele" with 350 m long downhill run. Church, post office, shops, chemist's, footballground, tennis courts, hairdresser, grocery, exchange. In Hotel Válcovny (1 km) swimmingpool, in Hotel Odra (2 Km) massages and sauna; in Frýdlant n. O. (9 km) bank, cinema, open-air swimmingpool, sport hall, gambling club. In Čeladná golf course. In Staré Hamry is monument of Maryčka Magdonová, the dam Šance, wooden church of Our Lady in Gruň from 1890-91, stone church of saint Henry from 1865.

We recommend to visit Wallachian open-air museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, mountains Radhošť and Pustevny, Technical museum Tatra Kopřivnice in Kopřivnice; town Štramberk with a castle; a ruins of castle Hukvaldy. Teatre in Ostrava and Český Těšín.

Cross-country skiing paths (unattended) starts at centre. Mainly these are long forest ways around Smrk (1 276 m.n.m.). Ideal terrain for cycling, hiking (Smrk, Podolánky, Lysá hora, Třeštík, Visalaje, Gruň), paragliding. Possibility to fish, ride a horse. River Ostravice with its weirs or in one of the near water reservoirs (Baška, Olešná, Žermanice) are used for swimming.
