The river rises in the Šumava Mountains. Vltava is passable all the year. The difficulty is marked ZW ? WW I-II. The river is recommended for advanced and also for the recreation sportsmen, except the stage Lipno ? Loučovice ? Lipno dam.

This stage is marked WW III ? W V+. The voyage downstream the river depends on the chosen stage.
The river?s stream is 424, 3 km long.
