Renaissance chateau is situated on the place of former gothic vassal estate, first mentioned in the 14th century documents. The building has a four-wing layout with the inner courtyard and the pillar arcades. The chateau was built during the years 1604-1605 by Jan Žalkovský from Žalkovice and was rebuilt many times. It gained its Renaissance style in the beginning of the 17th century. In 1695, the construction of the new tower with the clock was completed by the Gellhorn family, the inner layout was renovated by Salms during the 19th century. In 1969, the last general reconstruction of the castle was carried out. A number of important people have stayed here, including the doctor and archaeologist Jindřich Wankel, writer Ferdinand von Saar or Caroline Meineke. There are expositions of the Blansko Museum today.
