Castle Okoř (Okolí Prahy - sever)

Former residence of gentry families, since 16th century of the lords of Martinice, later property of Order of the Jesuits and after the abolishment of the Order property of a funds of donation and ruin from the beginning of the 19th century. The ruins of the Okoř castle are located to the north west of Prague at about 289 meters above the sea level. The Zákolanský brook under the castle used to flow through a pond, which is now drained. There is a former defense fortification above the brook close to the castle.
