The Czech smallest ZOO is situated on a plain on the banks of Munický Lake close to the chateau Hluboká, which creates a romantic panorama of the surrounding landscape. The ZOO complex offers pleasant walks on the area 2,8 ha. The ZOO was established in the year 1959.

Specialization of the ZOO is fauna of the Czech Republic. The ZOO has a significant merit in preservation of the genetic resources by the re-introduction of bird species. The most significant species are: greenish tortoise, macaw ararauna, raven, brown bear, black stork, ashy rowan and reverie otter.
