The complex consists of the classical ZOO situated on a plain, which is open all year round, and the seasonal safari, located in a mildly wavy terrain with a number of water areas. Part of the ZOO can the visitors see from the car or little train. The Zoo belongs to the world-significant breeders of African cloven-hoofed animals. It co-ordinates the European breeding program of rhinoceros and takes care of the handicapped animals of the domestic fauna.

The most interesting pavilions here are: Paddocks of cloven-hoofed animals (partly passable by buses), pavilions of carnivorous animals, bongos, pavilion of fish and reptiles (coral world, tropical river), pavilion of anthropoid apes, unique pavilion of birds (?Avian Word?). Rarity is a unique species of rhinoceros of the northern form. There are only 24 pieces of these animals in the world and 9 of them live in this ZOO. The ZOO in Dvůr Králové is the only one in the Czech Republic, which breeds them.
