Úštěk - city memorable reservation (Litoměřicko)

Úštěk is situated in the area of České středohoří, between Litoměřice and Česká Lípa. The narrow, elongated shape of the rocky promontory gave the ground plan of the historic center its typical look. The elongated square with the baroque Church of SS. Peter and Paul is lined with well-preserved Gothic houses with arcades. "The Bird Houses" - formerly dwellings of Italian workers, now a local rarity - are literally sticking to the edge of the cliff. Pikhartská Tower and remaining sections of the town walls are the last parts of the formerly necessary fortification system.
