In the place of the present town hall there apparently used to be a justice?s office in the Middle Ages. Town hall in the classical style from 1789 was expanded in 1851. The roof was lowered in 1819 and a small tower with a clock appeared in the middle. Basic building was later extended to the south direct in 1851.

At present there is a unique repeating clock from half of the 19th century. The clock strikes every quarter of an hour in such a manner that the number of whole quarters and hours is recognizable from the number of strikes and by the chime. On top of that the clock repeats every full hour the number of full hours in different chime.

For example quarter to twelve is struck once on the small bell and 11 times on the middle sized bell; twelve o'clock is announced by 4 strikes on the small bell, 12 strikes on the middle bell and 12 times on the biggest bell (28 times all together). Therefore each day we can hear 1 020 strikes.
