Humprecht castle is a nice example of baroque architecture designed to serve as a hunting lodge or a weekend house. The construction of the castle was commissioned by count Jan Humprecht Cernin of Chudenice in 1667. The oval layout with rooms centered around the main 16 meters high dining room was inspired by some of small Italian castles. Humprecht was sold in 1926 to the town of Sobotka to which it belongs to the present time. In the interiors are at the present time exhibits of the Museum of Local Crafts and Lifestyle together with exhibition devoted to the Cernin family and architectonic development of the castle. As I already mentioned above on the second floor is an open air wooden terrace surrounding the whole castle and providing beautiful panoramas of near by countryside.
