St.James Church is one of the dominant features of the town. It was built in New-Gothic style in years 1853 -1865 after the old church had burnt down in another huge fire in 1845. After that a fire-watcher´s room was established at the tower of the St.James Church. The interesting information is, that world famous composer Bohuslav Martinů was born there.
