Klokočské and Betlémské rocks near Turnov (Český ráj)

Adresa:

Turnov

Klokoč Rocks (Klokočské Skály)
The district is formed by Cretaceous sandstone in thickness up to 60 meters. The vertical rock battlements of Klokočské Skály above the village of the same name give the impression that some giant has lined it up using some gigantic ruler. It is about 1600 meters long and many cave hollows are located in it. Hidden in Zelený Důl is the narrow opening into the largest pseudo-karst cave in Turnovsko, called Postojná. Also rewarding for tourist are Klokočské průchody (Passages) and the remnants of the rock castle Rotštejn.

Betlémské Rocks
A sandstone massif of Betlémské rocks (Bethlehem Rocks) is situated northeast of city Turnov, in a picturesque area of Český ráj (Bohemian Paradise). The area of the Betlémské Skály is connected with Klokočské Skály and the ridge continues to the ruins of medieval castle Rotštejn. There are many massive rock blocks with caves and crags ran through many tourist paths.
