Jewish cemetery in Tachov (Český les a Chodsko)

The old cemetery in Tachov was founded in 1615 and it was used until 1933. There were valuable tombstones from the 17th century but the cemetery was devastated by Nazis. After 1986 some of the most valuable tombstones were removed because it was planed to abolish the whole cemetery. But the planned demolition was cancelled in 1990.
The new cemetery was established in 1933. During the war it was demolished by Nazis and in 1986 it was reconstructed. On the cemetery there is a mass grave of 600 victims of transport from the Buchenwald concentration camp.
