The giant crypt of the Schwarzenbergs, former owners of Třeboň, is the most interesting relic of this family in Třeboň. It was built on the side of the lake called Svět. There are buried 25 members of the Schwarzenberg family who died among the years 1786 ?1939. The main altar is made of white sandstone and it dominates the sober space of the crypt. In the vault there is possible to see a precious marble sarcophagus from 1789.

As the vault is located below the terrain level and the level of the lake Svět, there was built 60 cm wide and 2 m deep air canal to prevent water from soaking. It takes water out of the building and keeps the area dry inside.
