The Lake Jordan is the oldest dam in Central Europe. In 1492 the citizens of Tabor dammed the Tismenice River to provide a supply of drinking water for the town. The lake occupies an area of 50 hectares and reaches a depth of 14 meters. Nowadays, the Jordan does not only supply the town with water, but it is widely used for recreation. On the other side of the dam there is an interesting 18 m high waterfall created by water flowing from the lake.
