Castle Lužany (Plzeňsko)

Lužany Renaissance chateau was built in the place, where originally stood a 13th century fort. The local native, world-famous architect Josef Hlávka became the owner of the chateau in 1867. He rebuilt it in 1886 - 1887 in pseudo-Renaissance style.
Today visitors can admire well-preserved interiors with collections of works by M. Švabinský, V. Brožík, J. V. Myslbek, L. J. Šaloun, J. Mařák and others. There is also an exhibition on life and work of the architect Josef Hlávka.
