In town Zbiroh, there was built an Early-Gothic castle in the second half of the 13th century. The Gothic castle chapel with fresco decoration of the presbytery comes from the 14th century. There is also a 163 m deep well. In 1594, the Gothic castle was rebuilt in a Renaissance style. The well-known Art Noveau painter Alfons Mucha worked in Zbiroh in 1910 - 28. He painted there his Slavic Epic, the curtain that is now installed in the great hall of the chateau. Unfortunately, the chateau is not open to the public.
