Natural sight Pokličky (Pot-Lids) near Kokořín (Mělník a Kokořínsko)

These bizarre stone lids put on narrow conic rocks, resembling mushrooms. The lids were created due to differences in erosion intensity of sandstone rocks, with the harder, upper layer containing iron. The rocky lids are a typical feature of the protected wilderness area Kokořínsko. They are easily accessible from the parking lot in the upper section of Kokořín mine. You can also visit the lids called Jetřebické pokličky, no more than 3 km away.
