National Nature Park Žofínský Forest near Benešov nad Černou (Třeboňsko)

The nature reserve Žofínský Prales (Žofín Forest) is a part of Novohradské Mountains. It is situated near village Žofín, about 10 km southeast of Benešov nad Černou. The preserve of cold rainforest was established in 1838 as the first preserve in Bohemia. It is fenced for the protection against the wildlife and the access for public is allowed only with a guide.
